A recommended universal car phone holder

Due to having various devies in order to review software and hardware I am often in need of a car phone holder that will adjust to suit various phones. I have long been a fan of Brodit mounts, but universal holders aren't their cup of tea, so I set out to see what I could do. It ended up being very easy to get a rock solid Brodit mount with a universal adapter from Arkon. The equipment was kindly suppied by http://www.car-mounts.co.uk/.

I got 3 items, the universal holder from Arkon, a vehicle specific mount from Brodit and a Brodit swivel mount with an Arkon adapter.

As ever fitting is simple and doesn't involve screwing holes into my cars dashboard! For my Volvo the mount came in two parts. Part one I had to insert into a gap in the dashboard, screw part two to that, then screw the swivel mount to the now stable platform. Click Read More for some more detail and pictures. 

HTC Desire unboxing

I am pleased to announce that my HTC Desire unboxing is now live, I have been using this phone for a week or so now and am very impressed, it feels snappy, and nice to use, however the apps are not as polished as the Apple ones. Acer Liquid Review

Welcome to the smartphonesoft.com review of the Acer Liquid Android Smartphone. This is the first Android device that we have reviewed so I was fascinated to see what Android and Acer can deliver. First impressions of the phone were very good, it feels very thin, light and the initial taps on various icons revealed the phone to feel very response and snappy, exactly what I would have expected given the Snapdragon processor. Hopefully the picture shows the glossy quality feel of the phone, which doesn't seem to show smudges or fingermarks as I feared it might. Included with the device, and as shown in my unboxing is

• 2gb Micro SD card
• Owner manual on CD
• Power plug and USB charge cable
• Headphone/microphone
• Screen protector (very nice, other manufacturers please take note!)
